About
My name is Lukas Grumet, I was born in Klagenfurt back in 1986. I’m currently residing in Graz, where I attend the technical university.
I’ve discovered the internet and all its magics when I was twelve. The day when my father showed his first 56k modem to my brother and me is among my most memorable experiences. This incidence led to my first experience with webdesign, which I made -as already mentioned- during my early teens. I’ve always wondered what’s behind all these websites and so I ended up digging in numerous books for something called HTML. Finding this gem would truly change my life…
I finished my first website with 14, and received my first order two years later. From there on, I’ve been working for several customers as a print- and webdesigner. My strengths focus on XHTML and CSS. Weaknesses you ask? Well sure, I am not the keenest person on flash. I do flash elements, but you won’t see me doing whole flash sites. Like Zeldman or Moll, I believe that the true beauty of a website comes from its markup, its clearness and straightforwardness. Check out my work if you are looking for examples.
Apart from my work as a freelancer, I study molecular biology in Graz. It’s an amazing field of study and gives me the opportunity to pursue my central interests.
Last but not least, there is some sparetime too – which I love to spend with hanging out in the park, eynjoying the old city of Graz and of course climbing.
Oh, and I might throw in a picture of me as well…
